At the Parish Council meeting, held on 14th September 2011, ten Councillors were in attendance, together with the District Councillor, the County Councillor and eleven members of the public.
King Edward VII Hospital
Developer City and Country has submitted further planning applications for the redevelopment of the disused hospital site, following the refusal of planning permission by the South Downs National Park Authority in July 2011.
The current applications are for 238 “new build” houses/apartments and 178 conversions in the existing buildings, making a total of 416 homes on the site.
As previously, the Parish Council has objected in the strongest terms to the building of a “mini village” in this environmentally sensitive area of the South Downs National Park. The development would increase the size of Easebourne by 40%, with the attendant pressure on local services, roads, schools and parking.
The next Parish Council meeting will be held on Wednesday 9th November 2011 at 7.30pm in the Refectory, Easebourne. All members of the public are welcome to attend.
