EASEBOURNE PARISH COUNCIL

MAY - JUNE 2006 NEWSLETTER

At the Parish Council Annual General Meeting, held on Wednesday 10th May 2006, a new Chairman was elected to serve for the forthcoming year.  The Councillors were delighted to welcome Mr Ian Heustice as the new Chairman and deepest thanks were extended to Mrs Elizabeth Hamilton who has chaired the Council so ably and conscientiously for the past eight years.

Budgenor Lodge

The affordable homes at Budgenor Lodge are now completed and member of the Parish Council were invited to view them recently, prior to them being handed over to Warden Housing, the social Registered Landlord.

The Councillors were most impressed with the standard of design, finish and siting of these properties and also how sympathetic they were to the Listed building of the old workhouse. The homes are due to be occupied very shortly and have been allocated to families with an Easebourne and area connection, which your Parish council has been campaigning for.

King Edward VII Hospital

Lincoln Holdings, the owners of the now redundant hospital, have prepared a new set of plans concerning the re-development of the site.  These were available recently, for the public to inspect, prior to the submission of an official planning application to Chichester District Council.

When the application is sent from the District Council to the Parish Council for their comments we will call a public meeting in order that as many parishioners as possible may make their views known.

The next Parish Council meeting will be held on Wednesday 12th July 2006 at 7.30pm in the Refectory.  All are welcome.
