At the Parish Council meeting, held on 14th January 2009, ten Parish Councillors were in attendance, together with the District Councillor, County Councillor and the Clerk.
PLAYGROUND
A new cradle swing unit has now been installed. This has benefited from a 50% contribution from the Budgenor Lodge Community Facilities Grant, with the balance being paid for by the Parish Council. We hope that the younger members of the village will enjoy this new equipment.
DATES FOR YOUR DIARY
The Annual Village Spring Clean will take place on Monday 30th March 2009 at 6pm, starting from the Cowdray Estate Office car park. All help will be much appreciated. Equipment will be supplied, but you do participate at your own risk. We hope to see you on the 30th.
The Annual Village Meeting will take place on Wednesday 8th April 2009, in the Refectory, commencing at 7pm. After a report on the Parish Council activities for the past year, followed by refreshments, we have a most interesting talk by local historian, Bridget Howard. Her talk will be entitled “Queen Elizabeth I Comes to Cowdray”.
EASEBOURNE CRIME FIGURES
PCSO Craig Dunlop attended the meeting and gave us some very encouraging crime figures for Easebourne. In 2008 there were 33 reported crimes. But this was down by 26 from the previous year.
Let us hope the trend continues.
COUNTY LOCAL COMMITTEE (Chichester North)
The next meeting will be on Tuesday 10th March 2009 at Rogate Primary School, commencing at 7pm. All members of the public are welcome.
GRANTS
A grant of £250 has been awarded to the Rotherfield Sports Association to help with the maintenance of the playing field, which is well used by the community.
The next Parish Council meeting will be held on Wednesday 11th March 2009 at 7.30pm in the Refectory, Easebourne. All are welcome.
