EASEBOURNE PARISH COUNCIL

NEWSLETTER JANUARY 2008

Ten Councillors were in attendance at the Parish Council Meeting held on 9th January 2008, together with the County Councillor and one member of the public.

SPEED SURVEY NORTH AND SOUTH OF BUDGENOR LODGE

Following concerns expressed by some members of the public, West Sussex County Council has undertaken a speed survey on the A286 at Budgenor Lodge.  The results show that the large majority of motorists do abide by the 40mph speed limit, in both northerly and southerly directions.  There are, however, some motorists who do not.  The results of the survey will be considered, together with other road safety issues, relating to the Wheelbarrow Castle/Hollist Lane to Budgenor Lodge section of the A286.

OPERATION CRACKDOWN

Just a reminder that the public has the opportunity to report instances of anti-social driving.  This includes use of hand held mobile phones, speeding, thoughtless driving, untaxed vehicles, abandoned cars, drink driving, under age driving and other similar anti-social activities. Remember the slogan  “Don’t Tolerate it, Report it.”  Reports can be made on 01243 642222 or www.operationcrackdown.org
