At the Parish Council meeting, held on 12th November 2008, all eleven Parish Councillors were in attendance, together with the District Councillor, County Councillor, the Clerk and two members of the public.
New Bus Shelter
We are pleased to announce that the old bus shelter on Easebourne Lane, near to Conifers School, has been replaced. This new shelter has been funded by the County Council Bus Shelter Grants Scheme, the Budgenor Lodge developer’s Community Facilities Contribution and the Parish Council.
Midhurst Mobile Youth Centre
From the Budgenor Lodge Community Facilities contribution Easebourne Parish Council has granted £3000 towards the provision of the new Mobile Youth Centre. It is proposed that this centre will also serve the villages surrounding Midhurst, so we look forward to its arrival in Easebourne for the benefit of the younger members of the village.
Parish Precept for 2009/2010
The draft budget for 2009/2010 was approved at the meeting and the Parish Council recommended that the precept for next year is retained at the same figure as the current year.
Street Lighting to Budgenor Lodge
During the early part of 2009 the County Council should be installing street lighting, on Dodsley Lane, towards Budgenor Lodge. Because of this, there is a possibility that a 30mph speed limit would replace the current 40mph limit along this section of the road.
Pedestrian Crossing at Wheelbarrow Castle/Dodsley Lane
An informal pedestrian crossing, together with footway improvements on either side of the crossing, is being installed. There will also be “School Crossing” signs. These changes should make this busy crossing point safer, particularly as so many children use it going to and from the Intermediate School.
The next Parish Council meeting will be held on Wednesday 14th January 2009 at 7.30pm in the Refectory, Easebourne. All are welcome.
