EASEBOURNE PARISH COUNCIL

JULY - AUGUST 2006 NEWSLETTER

At the Parish Council meeting held on 12th July 2006 there were 9 Parish Councillors in attendance, together with the District Councillor, the County Councillor and the Clerk.  The following items were discussed during the meeting:

Sussex Pathwatch

This new group was formed to combat motorised vehicles using public rights of way, illegally, in the Sussex countryside.  A discussion group has been formed which comprises Sussex Police, South Downs Joint Committee, West Sussex County Council, Parish Councils, Landowners, recreation user groups and countryside organisations.  The initiative, which is being piloted in the Chichester district, is essentially a scheme to encourage the reporting of incidents.  To this end you can report incidents either by telephone or on-line.  You can also attend meetings and become actively involved if you so wish.  Incidents may be reported by telephoning Sussex Police on 0845 60 70 999 or via the website www.southdownsonline.org/pathwatch

You will need to know the date and time of the incident, together with the location, vehicle registration number and description of the person driving.

Your help will be appreciated.
